Dolly Victoria Beckham for Marc Jacobs
Victoria Beckham goes doll-like for her latest Marc Jacobs ad campaign.
Ever since she shot to fame with her fellow Spice Girls and became one of the richest, most spoiled footballers' wives out there, Victoria Beckham has done her best to promote her "Posh" side and self-styled herself as the ultimate fashionista. She is rail-thin, fabulously rich and fancies herself a designer, has equally rich and even more famous friends (just think Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes) and is keen to enforce her wannabe ultra-glamorous image on us at all costs and at any moment. However, her fashion exploits – including the advertising campaign for her designer friend Marc Jacobs, which she is currently starring in – are raising eyebrows among critics more often than they draw praise and acknowledgment.
Posh's latest foray into the world of fashion advertising comes in the form of a series of adds for Marc Jacobs, with whom Victoria is said to be very good friends. However, if looks is anything to judge by, Jacobs must surely hate pal Victoria to death, otherwise we can't possibly understand why he chose to make her look even more like the dysfunctional robot the tabloids are painting her to be. Although rich and famous, many media outlets also often present Victoria as a fashion victim, someone who is trying too hard to get the look that other celebrities achieve effortlessly – and surely, these latest ads come to confirm what has been said many times before – namely that in the name of fashion, Victoria is often too willing to do... well, simply too much.
