Dame Judi no Oscar because of her leg
Moldova.ORG -- Judi Dench played down her chances of victory at the Oscars, as the actress revealed she will not be at the Hollywood ceremony.
As BBC News reports the 72-year-old actress is due to go into hospital for surgery on her leg.
"Don't put any money on me because you'll lose," said the actress.
Dame Judi is up for the best actress prize for her role in drama “Notes On A Scandal”. It is her sixth Oscar nomination, and follows her best supporting actress victory in 1998 with “Shakespeare In Love”.
"The thing about the Oscars, it's strange because in the theatre you would say, 'Break a leg'. I can't because I'm to have a knee operation. I can't go to the awards. I'm going to have my leg broken and put back together. I will watch and cheer from my bed", said Judi Dench.
“Notes On A Scandal” is up for four Oscars, as well as a best supporting actress nomination for Cate Blanchett.
The Oscar ceremony takes place at the Kodak Theatre, Hollywood, on 25 February.
