Cronograf Film Festival to begin on May 1
The VI edition of the “Cronograf” International Documentary Film Festival film will take place in Chisinau between May 1 and 5.
According to Victoria Coroban, the event’s spokesperson, the Festival has prepared to its guests a varied and full-of-novelties programme for this year. The jury will be chaired by Marian Voicu, producer at the Romanian TVR channel.
The films participating at the basic category will be examined by a 5-member jury constituted of directors, producers and critics from France, Germany, Romania, Russia and Moldova. The head juror is Ana-Maria Plamadeala, a Moldovan film critic.
Besides the films participating in the competition that are to be shown on May 2, 3 and 4, from 10.00 till 21.00, there are special works to be screened at the Festival.
At the Festival’s opening, there will be shown an in-memoriam documentary about the late poet and scientist Ion Vatamanu, on the occasion of his 70th birth anniversary. The film is an OWH TV Studio production, directed by Leontina Vatamanu, the poet’s daughter.
On May 2, the audience will watch the one-minute films made by the young trainees of the OWH TV Studio’s Youth Video Laboratory 2007. On May 4, “cuvinte.ro” movie produced by Violeta Gorgos will be shown outside the competition.
