Casino Royale - the best modern movie at 11th annual ADG

The Art Directors Guild's Excellence in Production Design Awards in Beverly Hills tapped "Casino Royale" as the best modern movie.

The other two big conquerors were: "Curse of the Golden Flower" for best period film and "Pan's Labyrinth" for best fantasy film, according to UPI.

Production designer Dean Tavoularis was given an honorary award for lifetime realization and Terry Gillam got an award for exceptional contribution to cinematic imagery.

Other winners were: television's "Ugly Betty" for best single camera TV series, "MAD TV" for best multi-camera TV series, "Stephen King's Desperation" for best TV movie or mini-series and "The 58th Annual Emmy Awards" for variety or awards show, music special or documentary.

The 11th annual Art Directors Guild's Excellence in Production Design Awards ceremony was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
