Casino Royale more than Harry Potter or Pirates Of The Caribbean
“Casino Royale” enjoyed the best opening weekend ever by a James Bond film in the UK, taking $24 million last week end, according to Contactmusic.
The Daniel Craig-starring thriller smashed the previous record of $16.4 million held by 2002's “Die Another Day”.
Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Martin G Wilson thank the British public for backing Craig, as saying: “We are delighted the UK has had record-breaking results over the weekend for “Casino Royale”, and we are very grateful for the support and goodwill of the British public to the new film and most especially towards Daniel Craig."
“Casino Royale” also enjoyed the third highest opening ever at the UK box office, beaten only by “Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire” and “Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest”.
