Brittany Murphy’s autopsy complete

While it was initially said that Brittany Murphy had died of natural causes and that there was no foul play suspected, the cause of death has been deterred after the autopsy was completed. The actress died after going into cardiac arrest on Sunday morning and toxicology results should shed some light into whether drugs were a factor, the Examiner informs.

Murphy was only 32 years old, therefore the theory that she died of natural causes warrants a police investigation, especially in light of allegations saying that drugs or even an eating disorder might have been a factor, the aforementioned publication says. The autopsy, however, was inconclusive, and the Coroner’s Office is now waiting for toxicology results to establish the exact cause of death.

“The autopsy on Murphy’s body was completed today, but what really caused her cardiac arrest won’t be known until the results of her drug tests. Toxicology tests on Murphy’s body are not due to be finished for four to six weeks, according to the Los Angeles coroner Ed Winter has announced,” Examiner writes.

 “With the completion of the autopsy, it has only added to the confusion surrounding Murphy’s death. Her death has been originally cited as natural causes, but speculation has been swirling that Murphy’s sudden death was linked to drugs or anorexia. It’s been reported that before her death, she was looking thinner than usual,” Examiner further explains.

As we also reported the other day, Murphy’s body was found by her mother. The actress had reportedly been complaining of severe abdominal pains and flu-like symptoms for 7 to 10 days before her death. She collapsed in the bathroom of her house in the Hollywood Hills and died.
