BAFTA: stars on red carpet

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) is a British charity that hosts annual awards shows for film, television, television craft, video games and forms of animation.

This year show award is the 61 anniversary of the event. The Orange British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA Awards 2008) was held at the Royal Opera House in London on Sunday. For the big prize actors like Daniel Day Lewis, Marion Cotillard and Coen Brothers had a long way. The show gathered lots of stars. Here bellow you can enjoy the photos from the show.

Keira Knightley was gorgeous in Valentino column gown at the show.

Keira, 22, is nominated for Best Leading Actress for her work in Atonement. Other contenders for the title include Julie Christie (Away From Her), Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose) and Ellen Page (Juno).

Jessica Biel was present on the event in a black dress and continues to rock out her bleached blonde hair.


Marion Cotillard won the award for best actress:“It has been the most incredible adventure. I loved every single second of the shooting. I love you so much for doing this to me. “

Javier Bardem for best supporting actor: “It's a great honour for me to be recognised in a land where there's this huge long tradition of great performers. It's a great honour for a European performer to be here tonight on this stage. I also want to thank mum and dad. Not mine - Joel and Ethan Coen's.”

Sir Anthony Hopkins said about the event:“It sure beats working! Sometimes when we're sitting in a trailer at 3am and I'm eating a lukewarm pizza waiting for the last shot, my wife says to me: 'Do you really think it's worth it at this time in your life?' And I say, 'Yeah.' It always has been worth it, and I guess it always will be until I stop.”
