49th Annual EBONY Fashion Fair 'Stylishly Hot' reaches Odessa
Thousands turned out Tuesday in Odessa as the 49th Annual EBONY Fashion Fair presented 'Stylishly Hot' at the MCM Grande Hotel Fun Dome in Odessa, mywesttexas.com informs. The EBONY Fashion Fair is the world's largest traveling show, visiting an estimated 180 cities worldwide, officials said.
Tuesday's affair marked the first time the EBONY Fashion Fair, featured in EBONY magazine, has come to the Permian Basin. Nearly 1,400 attended the event, said Rita Adams, president of the Rho Iota Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The event locally was presented by the Odessa chapter and its educational fund incorporated according to mywesttexas.com.
"We are pleasantly surprised," Adams said of the turnout. "You set your goals high and even at this level, this is fantastic." Attendees traveled from as far as Arizona, New York City, California, Fort Worth and Houston to Odessa for the EBONY Fashion Fair, Adams said.
