To Vlemma tou Odyssea

One man's journey in the modern Balkans of poverty, conflict, fanaticism, and war. A story built on the myth of Ulysses, a journey and a quest from Florina to Corytsa and the old Monastery, to Philipoupolis, Bucharest and Costanza on the Black Sea with its memories of Greece, and from there over the Danube to Belgrade, to Vucovar, to Mostar and to Sarajevo.
The reason for the journey of this latter-day Ulysses: a short film by the Manaki brothers, Greece's first filmmakers, undeveloped since the turn of the century. The quest for a lost gaze and a lost innocence.
