Douglas Peter Savant was born on June 21, 1964 in Burbank, California, USA. He is an American actor.

He starred in films like Trick or Treat (1986), Masquerade (1988), opposite Rob Lowe, Hanoi Hilton and in Red Surf (1990), opposite George Clooney. He also appeared as Sgt. O'Neal in the film Godzilla (1998).

Savant starred on series such as Profiler, Harsh Realm, Firefly, JAG, Nip/Tuck, 'NYPD Blue, Melrose Place and a four-episode arc on 24.

Savant plays Tom Scavo on ABC's Desperate Housewives. In the first season (2004-05).
