    Vivien Leigh

    Vivien Leigh, Lady Olivier was born on November 5, 1913 in Darjeeling, West Bengal, British India and died on July 8, 1967. He was an English actress.

    Vivien Leigh didn't starred in many films, but she made movie history with her portrayal of Scarlett in Gone With the Wind (1939), starring opposite Clark Gable and winning her first Oscar.

    Marrying Olivier in August 1940, she appeared alongside him in a US production of Romeo and Juliet. They also co-starred in the films 21 Days (1940) and That Hamilton Woman' (1941).

    Other major starring roles followed, notably in Lady Hamilton (1941), Anna Karenina (1948), and A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), starring opposite Marlon Brando, for which she received another Best Actress Oscar.

    Her marriage to Olivier ended in 196O, and Leigh's final years were spent battling manic-depression and tuberculosis.
