Eerie Horror Film Festival
The Eerie Horror Film Festival & Expo that takes place October 10 – 14, 2007 at the Erie Playhouse and Avalon Hotel in Erie, Pa, has announced that Actor Jason Mewes, best known for roles in several Kevin Smith comedies, will be appearing at their annual event.
Mewes earned immediate cult status for his portrayal of the character Jay in 1994’s indie classic, “Clerks”, a film that also catapulted director Kevin Smith into the mainstream almost overnight.
While Mewes is most associated with the comedy genre, he has recently made appearances in a handful of horror films, including “Scream 3”, “The Tripper” and the 2005 Project Greenlight film, “Feast”.
Mewes will be visiting the Eerie Horror Film Festival in October to support his latest horror/comedy, “Netherbeast Incorporated”, a humorous film about vampires set in modern day corporate America.
Filmmakers Brian and Dean Ronalds will also be in attendance.
“I think it’s awesome to see Jason Mewes venturing into horror movie territory”, said Festival Director Greg Ropp, “and we’re very excited to have him at our show this year.”
