Share

Yancey Arias was born on June 27, 1971 in New York City. He is an American actor.

In college he began to do some film and TV work. It was in 1992 when Miss Saigon the Broadway show offered him a job as an understudy and ensemble member where things really started happening. Over the next 8 years Yancey performed in 27 film, theater, and TV productions. Six of those years he did a large part of his TV work while doing Miss Saigon, where he eventually took over the principal role of Thuy for 4 out of those 6 years. He is forever thankful to the understanding and supportive production team of that show. Some of his credits include guest starring and feature roles in New York Undercover, NYPD Blue, One Life To Live, Law & Order, Swift Justice, Promised Land, The Sopranos, The Education of Matt Waters, Criminal Justice, Destination Unknown, and much more.

Inspired by what people like Edward James Olmos, John Leguizamo, and Marc Anthony did for themselves in film and music, he coproduced and starred in two of his own films: Destination Unknown- winner for Best Independent at the '97 Hampton Film Festival, and The Home Invaders, which will be released in February 2004. He is also determined to release a single and or album by the end of 2004.

The year 2000 brought a new accomplishment to Yancey's life. After doing two workshops of the new Broadway show The Wild Party, he found himself competing for the leading role of Black, the lover of the show.

In 2001, he moved to Los Angeles. Upon arrival he was cast in the role of "Toren" in the DreamWorks action adventure movie, The Time Machine. Soon after he was seen guest starring in The Shield, JAG, Charmed, NYPD Blue and CSI: Miami. In 2002, he began shooting what is known to be his breakthrough production, Kingpin as "Miguel Cadena.".

Today he is currently working with another wonderful cast of friends in Gregory Nava's American Family which will air April 4th, 2004. Yancey plays "Conrado Gonzalez." He is the oldest son of Jess and Berta Gonzalez played by Edward James Olmos and Sonia Braga. His brothers and sisters are played by Esai Morales, Constance Marie, Rachel Ticotin, and Raquel Welch as his aunt Dora.
