Taryn Manning was born on November 6, 1978 in Falls Church, Virginia. She is an American actress, fashion designer, dancer and singer/songwriter.
She started dancing at age twelve and won many competitions. She also has won the Arizona state championship in karate.
Although she had small film and television roles, she tried out for WB's Popstars in 2001. Since then, she has starred in more prominent and well-known roles.
Manning and her brother Killian formed Boomkat and their debut album Boomkatalog. One was released on March 18th 2003. She sang a rendition of "I'll Take You There" with Tweet in a Gap commercial, and a Boomkat song was included on the 8 Mile soundtrack.
She starred in Hustle & Flow (2005), The Breed (2006) and Weirdsville (2007).
