Ralph Fiennes

Ralph Nathaniel Fiennes was born on 22 December 1962 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. He is a Tony Award-winning, Academy Award-nominated and Genie Award-nominated British actor.
He has been the very image of the trim, intense, heroically repressed Englishman in films like The English Patient (1996) and The Constant Gardener (2005).
However, he took a sharp turn in 1993, winning an Oscar nomination as the nasty Nazi commandant Amon Goeth in Schindler's List, directed by Stephen Spielberg and then playing American game show fraud Charles Van Doren in Quiz Show (1994).
Since then he has appeared in all manner of films: earning another Oscar nomination as the doomed desert mapmaker Count de Almasy in The English Patient; spoofing spy movies as John Steed in The Avengers (1998); playing both Marcel Proust and Jesus of Nazareth in the same year, 2000; and starring as an American politico opposite Jennifer Lopez in the frothy Hollywood romance Maid In Manhattan. In 2005 he played a popular literary villain, Lord Voldemort, in the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
He also starred in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007).
He married actress Alex Kingston in 1993, but they divorced in 1997. In 1995, Fiennes started dating Francesca Annis, his much-older co-star in Hamlet. In February 2006, the couple separated. This came after tabloid reports that said Fiennes had an affair with Romanian singer Cornelia Crisan. In late 2006, sources reported that Fiennes is dating American actress Ellen Barkin, who is eight years his senior.
