Michael J. Fox was born on June 9, 1961 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He is a Canadian/American film and television actor.
He made his professional debut in the sitcom 'Leo and Me' in 1976, aged 15, and appeared in a few films before achieving success on TV, first in Midnight Madness and Class of 1984.
He also had enormous success on the big screen, playing Marty McFly in Robert Zemeckis' zany romp, Back to the Future (1985). He also was playing comic roles in Teen Wolf and The Secret of My Success and alongside Sean Penn in Brian DePalma's Vietnam saga Casualties of War.
In 1991 he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, but nevertheless continued working. From 1996-2000, he starred in the hit TV series Spin City.
In 2004, Fox guest starred in the medical comedy Scrubs as Dr. Kevin Casey, who suffered from obsessive-compulsive disorder. Two years later he appeared in four episodes of Boston Legal.
He has also voiced the title role of the mouse in the successful Stuart Little (1999) and Stuart Little 2 (2002) animated movies.
Fox married actress Tracy Pollan on 16 July 1988. They have four children.
