Laura Elizabeth Innes was born on August 16, 1959 in Pontiac, Michigan. She is a three-time Emmy Award-nominated American actress and director.
Her first stage credits were in Chicago at the renowned Goodman Theatre, where among other roles she played Stella opposite John Malkovich's Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire.
In 1986, Innes appeared in the short-lived television sitcom The Stiller and Meara Show. In 90’s she appeared on television series such as Party of Five, My So-Called Life, Brooklyn Bridge, in the Emmy-winning cable movie And the Band Played and in her first major TV role on the NBC comedy series Wings from 1991-1993.
In the fall of 1995, she joined the hit NBC medical drama ER. She left ER in January of 2007 after twelve seasons.
She married actor David Brisbin.
