Mary Kathleen Turner was born on June 19, 1954 in Springfield, Missouri. She is a Tony Award and Academy Award-nominated American actress.
In 1978, Turner made her acting debut in the television NBC daytime soap The Doctors. She made her debut in 1981 as the ruthless Matty Walker in the thriller Body Heat.
She also has appeared in Prizzi's Honor (1985), with Jack Nicholson and in Peggy Sue Got Married with Nicolas Cage.
Other her movie credits include The War of the Roses (1989), Serial Mom (1994), The Real Blonde (1997), The Virgin Suicides (1999) and Prince of Central Park (2000).
Turner also appeared in television series including Friends, Law & Order and Nip/Tuck.
She married real estate entrepreneur Jay Weiss in 1984.
