John Noble

John Noble was born on August 20, 1948 in Port Pirie, South Australia, Australia. He is an Australian film, television actor and theatre director of more than 80 plays.
As an actor, he has had guest roles in TV series Big Sky, Police Rescue, Water Rats, Timetrax, Above the Law, Stingers, The Young Lions, Home & Away and Tales of the South Pacific. For the last five and a half years he has a semi-regular role in All Saints as the neuro-surgeon Dr John Madsen. He appeared in the mini-series Hills End, and films The Dreaming, Nostradamus Kid, A Sting in the Tail and Call me Mr. Brown, Airtight, The Monkeys Mask and A Virtual Nightmare.
In 2002, he appeared in the US productions The Outsider, Superfire, The Natalie Wood Story and the New Zealand feature Fracture. In 2003 his stage work included the plays The Arabs Mouth and Room 201 Nicola Tesla.
In 2004, for his role as Denethor, John won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Ensemble Cast; a Broadcast Film Critics Association USA Award for Best Ensemble Cast. And, in the previous year, won Best Ensemble Cast Award from National Board of Review USA; and the Fellowship was nominated for Best Audio Commentary for DVD Exclusive Awards.
In 2005, John appeared as Ben in the feature film Voodoo Lagoon, followed by a guest appearance as Meurik in Stargate SG-1 and then a short stint as Dr Helpman in the Australian production Home and Away.
Two films were released in 2006, Running Scared in which John plays a tough and nasty Russian criminal boss Ivan Yugorski, and One Night with the King in which he plays the conniving and plotting Prince Ardmantha.
Last year, John had a wonderful “holiday” in Fiji, working on the television series The Lost Treasure of Fiji¸ in which he plays the role of the evil pirate Blackheart. The series airs in Australia in February 2007.
He travelled to Wales in the UK to commence filming in on the feature film Risen, which is the rights of passage story of the boxer Howard Winstone. John plays the legendry boxing trainer and manager, Eddie Thomas.
At the end of John appeared in two episodes of the Twentieth Century Fox series 24 as Consul Markov directed by Jon Cassar.
