John Uhler Lemmon was born on February 8, 1925 in Newton, Massachusetts and died on June 27, 2001. He better known as Jack Lemmon, was a two-time Academy Award-winning American actor and comedian.
He appeared in dozens of high-profile films over 50 years, including the Billy Wilder comedies Some Like It Hot (1959), The Apartment (1960) and Irma La Douce (1963).
He has also proved himself in dramas, including The Days of Wine and Roses (1962), Missing (1982), and Glengarry Glen Ross (1992).
In 1988 he received the Life Achievement Award of the American Film Institute.
Jack Lemmon died of cancer at the age of 76.
