Isaiah Washington was born April 2, 1963 in Houston, Texas. He is an American film and television actor.
He made his big screen debut in Spike Lee's Crooklyn (1994), and he subsequently appeared in Lee's Clockers (1995), Girl 6 (1996), and Get on the Bus (1996).
Some of Washington's other memorable credits during the '90s included the Hughes brothers' Dead Presidents (1995), the warmly received ensemble romantic comedy Love Jones (1997), Steven Soderbergh's Out of Sight (1998), in which Washington gave a memorable turn as a scheming con's violent brother-in-law; Warren Beatty's Bulworth (1998).
In 1999, Washington starred in the film True Crime, playing Frank Beachum, a man falsely accused of a murder and faced with the death penalty. The strong performance led to other lead roles in films like Romeo Must Die (2000) and Exit Wounds (2001).
On television, he has guest-starred in several series, including NYPD Blue, Law & Order, Homicide: Life on the Street, Ally McBeal, New York Undercover, Living Single, Soul Food, Touched by an Angel, Grey's Anatomy and Bionic Woman.
Washington married Jenisa Marie Washington on February 14, 1999. The couple have three children.
