Emily Erin Deschanel was born on October 11, 1976 in Los Angeles, California. She is an American actress.

He has established herself as one of Hollywood's hottest rising stars. In the last year she has been seen in the feature films "Cold Mountain" for Anthony Minghella, "The Alamo" for John Lee Hancock and "Spider-Man 2" for Sam Raimi. In October 2004, Interview magazine named her one of “6 Actors to Watch” in their annual “Young Hollywood” issue. She next stars opposite Josh Lucas and Derek Luke in the film “Glory Road” for producer Jerry Bruckheimer, to be released in January 2006.

Deschanel attended the 2003 Toronto International Film Festival and the 2004 Sundance Film Festival with the independent film "Easy," directed by Jane Weinstock.
