Sean Patrick Flanery was born on October 11, 1965 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was raised in Houston. Flanery attended the University of St. Thomas to study for a business degree. While there, he began doing theater and discovered his passion for acting. He left college and relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his career. Within a year of arriving in Los Angeles, Flanery began working in film and television.

First discovered by audiences as the title character in George Lucas' acclaimed television series "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles." Flanery, who was handpicked out of thousands of actors to star as the young adventurer, traveled all over the world to shoot the series, which continues to be hugely successful overseas.

Sean is a triathlete. He went to the Junior Olympics in track. He's an avid surfer. He loves skiing, soccer, football, and also has a black belt in karate.

In his spare time, he races cars and shifter karts. He won Neon celebrity races in 1994, 1995, 1996, 2001 and the Toyota Pro-Celebrity races in 1997 and 1998. In 1999, he also won the Budweiser Flamingo Grand Prix Pro 125 shifter kart race in Miami. That win landed him on the cover of the June 1999 issue of Shifter Kart Illustrated magazine.
