Kenneth Charles Branagh was born on December 10, 1960 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK. He is an Emmy Award-winning, Academy Award-nominated Northern Irish-born actor and film director.

He starred in the film Henry V with Emma Thompson. The film brought him Best Actor and Best Director Oscar nominations. He played opposite Thompson again in the films Dead Again and Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing.

He also starred in The Gingerbread Man; a lovelorn parish priest in the period drama The Proposition; and played the arch villain in the '60s cult TV classic Wild Wild West.

He married Emma Thompson in 1989 and divorced in 1996. He married again in 2003, to film art director Lindsay Brunnock.
