Many of the characters Katt plays are overtly prickly, followed by such roles as an irascible motorhead in Dazed and Confused, an ill-fated child rapist in A Time to Kill and an embittered business rival in Boiler Room.

He also appeared in Insomnia (2002), Sin City (2005) and Grindhouse (2007).
