• Chandra Wilson to replace Ellen Pompeo

Chandra Wilson was born August 27, 1969 in Houston, Texas. She is an Emmy Award-nominated and two-time SAG Award-winning American actress.

Wilson's first notable TV role was in the series Bob Patterson, one of the first post-"Seinfeld" vehicles for Jason Alexander. The 2001 series was short-lived. She has also appeared on Law & Order, Sex and the City, and The Sopranos.

She currently has a supporting role on the ABC drama, Grey's Anatomy. Since the show' premiere as a midseason drama in 2005 it has gone on to a second season and attained hit status with great ratings and rave reviews.
