Henry Jackson Thomas, Jr. was born on September 9, 1971 in San Antonio, Texas, USA. He is an American actor and musician.

He is best known for his role as Elliott in the 1982 Steven Spielberg film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

His most prominent adult role to date was as Samuel Ludlow in 1994's Legends of the Fall. He is currently both an actor and musician, and performs with the band The Blueheelers.

He married to Marie Zielcke in May 2004.
