Stephen John "Steve" Coogan was born on 14 October 1965 in Middleton, USA. He is an English actor, impressionist, and comedian.

He starred in various TV series, winning British Comedy awards for Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge (1994); I'm Alan Partridge (1997) and I'm Alan Partridge (2002). He also won a BAFTA TV award for I'm Alan Partridge (1997).

Steve Coogan also appeared on the big screen. Starring alongside Jackie Chan in ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ (2004), Rob Brydon in ‘A Cock and Bull Story’ (2005), Lisa Kudrow in the clever and thoughtful ‘Happy Endings’ (2005) and is currently filming in Hot Fuzz (2007) Simon Pegg’s new movie.

Coogan married Caroline Hickman in 2002 but they were divorced by July 2005. He has a daughter from a previous relationship.
