William Alan Shatner was born on March 22, 1931 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He is a Canadian actor.

After working on Broadway and in television, he captained the USS Enterprise for television's quintessential science-fiction series, Star Trek (1966–1969), and recreated his roles as Captain Kirk in a number of successful films in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.
