Mary-Louise Parker was born on August 2, 1964 in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, USA. She is an American actress.

She starred in many productions of the stage and screen. She had a recurring role in the highly acclaimed series The West Wing. She won a award for her role as "Harper Pitt" in Angels in America, and HBO production.

She starred in Naked in New York (1994), Mr. Wonderful (1993), The Client (1994), Bullets Over Broadway (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), Portrait of a Lady (1996), The Five Senses (1997), and Red Dragon (2002).

Her last projects include The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007) starring Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck.

She has a son named William Atticus. His father is Billy Crudup. Crudup and Parker had dated since 1996 but they spilt up in November of 2003.
