Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx, birth name Eric Marlon Bishop, is an American actor, singer, and comedian, Academy Award and British Academy of Film and Television Arts winning.

Fox was born in Terrell, Texas, USA, on December 13, 1967. He was raised up by his mother's adoptive parents, Esther Marie and Mark Talley, in the black quarter of Terrell, Texas, 13,000, 30 miles east of Dallas, at the time a racially segregated community. He has not many contacts with his natural parents, who soon after his birth converted to Islam.

Eric changed his name to Jamie Fox when he was doing stand up comedy.

His first lessons Foxx got from his grandmother at age five. He began with piano lessons and continued college with classical piano lessons. After high school, Foxx was awarded a music scholarship to United States International University in San Diego, California.

Foxx started his career as a comedian. He became known for his appearances on comedic TV series such as In Living Color and Def Comedy Jam. When the show ended, Foxx was given his own show, The Jamie Foxx Show, in which he played an aspiring actor who came from Texas to work in his Aunt and Uncle's hotel.

Foxx's film big debut came in Any Given Sunday (1999) directed by Oliver Stone, where he played a football player.
