William Hurt
William Hurt was born on March 20, 1950 in Washington, D.C, USA. He is an Academy Award-winning American actor.
He starred in a succession of off-Broadway productions, then he debuted in Altered States (1980). He won a Best Actor Oscar for Kiss of The Spiderwoman (1985), and Oscar nominations for Children Of A Lesser God (1986) and Broadcast News (1987).
He also starred in Trial By Jury (1993), Dark City (1998), Syriana (2005) and The Good Shepherd (2006). In 2006 Hurt was again nominated for an Oscar, this time for the small role of a Philadelphia gangster who tangles with Viggo Mortensen in A History of Violence.
