Liv Tyler was born Liv Rundgren, on July 1, 1977 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, New York, USA. She is a the first born daughter of Steven Tyler, the lead singer of Aerosmith; and Bebe Buell, a model and singer.

Also Liv is a former teen model. She made her acting debut in 1994's Silent Fall. By the end of the 1990s Tyler had a dozen movies to her credit, including Stealing Beauty (1996), Armageddon (1998) and Cookie's Fortune (1999).

Beginning in 2001 she co-starred with Viggo Mortensen in Peter Jackson's three-films-in-three-years movie series The Lord of the Rings, playing the elf princess Arwen Evenstar.

She also starred in Reign Over Me (2007) and thriller The Strangers (2007).

Liv married British musician Royston Langdon of the band Spacehog. She also was dated actor Joaquin Phoenix from 1995 to November 1998.
