Warren Beatty

Henry Warren Beaty was born on March 30, 1937 in Richmond, Virginia, USA. He is better known as Warren Beatty, is an Academy Award- and Golden Globe-winning American actor, producer, screenwriter, and director.

He made his film debut in Splendor in the Grass (1961). At the same time as acting, he produced Bonnie and Clyde (1967), co-wrote Shampoo (1975), and co-directed Heaven Can Wait (1978). He was the producer, co-writer and star of Reds (1981) co-starring Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson. For this movie Beatty won an Oscar as Best Director.

In 1991 Beatty married actress Annette Bening, his co-star in the gangster movie Bugsy (1991) co-starring Ben Kingsley. His 1998 movie Bulworth co-starring Halle Berry and Don Cheadle was a political satire that seemed to echo Beatty's outspoken political views, opinions he was later to voice during a brief flirtation with a run for president in 2000.
