Julianne Moore was born on December 3, 1960 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, USA. She is an American actress and has been nominated for four Academy Awards.
She studied drama at Boston University's School of Performing Arts, and after a number of stage parts became known for her role in the US television soap As The World Turns (1985-1986).
Julianne has small but noticeable roles in The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992) and The Fugitive (1993).
She starred in Safe (1995), Nine Months (1995) alongside with Hugh Grant, and Jurassic Park: The Lost World (1997), with Jeff Goldblum.
She received Oscar nominations for her work in Boogie Nights (1997) starred alongside Mark Wahlberg, The End of the Affair (1999). In 2001, she starred opposite Anthony Hopkins in thriller Hannibal.
In 2002 she won Oscar nominations for both The Hours with Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman and the marriage melodrama Far From Heaven starred with Dennis Quaid.
Her later films include the biopic The Prizewinner of Defiance, Ohio (2005), the end-of-the-world drama Children of Men (2006) with Clive Owen and 2007’s thriller Next starred opposite Nicolas Cage.
