Shia LaBeouf

The day was June 11th, the year was 1986, and this was the day that the talented Shia LaBeouf entered this world. Who would have thought then that baby Shia would become what he is today? Shia was the kind of kid that knew what he wanted, and he would do whatever he could to get it. One day he was out surfing in the ocean, which was a common pastime for California citizens, and happened to bump into a kid that was getting into acting himself. Shia decided that he wanted to be an actor. Instead of just dreaming about becoming an actor, like most kids, he was actually determined, he knew acting was what he was going to do. So he got a hold of his local yellow pages and looked up the name and number of the Agents in that area, and made the calls himself, until he finally got one. He didn't just jump right into acting right away; in fact he started doing stand up comedy at the local comedy club. It was at that club that he finally got noticed. He was finally going to be an actor.

Like any actor, Shia had to start small, and work his way up from there. Between the years of 1998 and 2000, he did a variety of roles in these two years, he did several guest appearances on television shows such as ER, The X-Files, Freaks and Geeks, Touched by an Angel, Jesse, and Caroline in the City. Within those two years he also did several movies, he starred in Breakfast With Einstein, and The Christmas Path. All of these notable achievements couldn't have prepared us for the acting phenomenon that was yet to come.

In 2000 Shia became the annoying younger brother, which you couldn't help but love, on Emmy Award Winning Even Stevens. He played Louis Stevens, everyone's favorite character. Louis was younger brother of perfectionist Ren Stevens, and legendary athlete Donny Stevens. Shia's notable performance in this series as Louis Stevens was outstanding, and entirely deserving of the Daytime Emmy he won in 2003 for Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series. This was a milestone in the journey Shia had started out on as a young boy, and it got his shoe in the door of Movie Stardom.

Of course Shia could make us laugh, he had proven that in Even Stevens, but in 2002, and 2003, he had done two remarkable performances that showed that Shia was the full package. He could make us laugh, he could make us cry, and he distinguished himself as a true actor. In 2002 he took on the role of Eddie Walker in Tru Confessions, a mentally handicapped younger brother of Trudy Walker. Then in 2003, he became Stanley Yelnats in Holes. Stanley was the kid who had the worst luck, and it was all because of his "Dirty, rotten, no good, pig-stealin, great great grandfather." Holes was an incredible adventure of a boy who was never in the right pace at the right time, and his amazing ressiliance through out the entire journey. Both films were successful, and helped in making a name for Shia. He was definitely a force to be reckoned with.

Since 2003, Shia has taken on several parts, in several movies such as The Even Stevens Movie (2003), where he played Louis Stevens one last time; Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd (2003), where his part as Lewis was hard to forget with such extravagant costumes; Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003); Project Greenlight/The Battle of Shaker Heights (2003), we sure saw a different side of Shia with this project, and we got to see week to week, how Shia prepares himself for a role. Then he chopped his hair off in 2004, and played Farber in I-Robot, the kid who needed to stop cussing and go home. Around came 2005, and he was John Constantine's chauffer, and sidekick, in Constantine.

Shia has played so many different roles that it makes us wonder, is there anything he can't do? Be sure to see Shia this fall in upcoming true-story The Greatest Game Ever Played, and many more movies to come.
