Jean Reno was born Don Juan Moreno y Jederique Jimenez on July 30, 1948 in Casablanca, Morocco to Spanish parents who had fled Franco's fascist regime. In his late teens, Reno relocated to France, where he fulfilled mandatory military duty in order to gain French citizenship.
Following his army stint, he resettled in Paris, where he enrolled in a state-sponsored school of dramatic arts and eventually hooked up with a touring theater troupe that traveled throughout France.
Jean Reno has been one of France's leading actors for nearly two decades. He's worked with some of his country's top directors and thespians in a number of films that have found success abroad, including several collaborations with director Luc Besson in international box-office smashes like The Final Combat (1983), The Big Blue (1988) and La femme Nikita (1990).
Appearances in these and other French films brought him to the attention of audiences outside of France, and helped pave the way for roles in a number of American movies.
Also he starred in The Professional (1994), Mission: Impossible (1996), Hotel Rwanda (2004), and The Pink Panther (2006), he is also one of that country's most successful acting exports.
On July 29th, 2006 the actor married model and actress Zofia Borucka, 35, at the city hall of Baux-de-Provence in southern France. He was married twice before and has four children, two from each marriage. His first wife was Geneviève, with whom he has a daughter, Sandra (born in 1978), and a son, Mickael (born in 1980). His second wife is model Nathalie Dyszkiewicz, with whom he has a son, Tom (born 1996), and a daughter, Serena (born 1998). He maintains homes in Paris, Malaysia and in Los Angeles.
