Jennifer Aniston was born to Nancy and John Aniston. Aniston, who is Greek, spent a year of her childhood living in Greece with her family but later, moved to New York. Aniston's parents separated when she was 9 years old. After the divorce, she was raised in New York City by her mother. Aniston was a very talented artist and at the young age of 11, one her paintings was displayed at an exhibit at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. At 15, Aniston was accepted to New York's High School for the Performing Arts.

During 1989, Aniston was cast in a handful of television shows. Then, the show Friends came along. Aniston was originally tested for the role of Monica, but she told the producers that she felt much more comfortable with the Rachel character and they agreed. Jennifer Aniston, as the goofy and sexy Rachel, quickly became the show's breakout star.

She married actor Brad Pitt in 2000; they divorced in 2005 amid a flurry of rumors that Pitt had become interested in actress Angelina Jolie. Late that year Aniston began dating actor Vince Vaughn, her co-star in the film The Break-Up released in 2006. Aniston's current films include Friends with Money (2006).
