Eddie was born in Bethnal Green and first got into acting after working as an extra when a film was being made in his local area. His career quickly took off and one of his early roles was in the BBC adaptation of Crime and Punishment with John Simm.
He served an apprenticeship as a printer before beginning his career as an actor fourteen years ago. During this time he has had an exceptionally wide and varied body of work. His film work includes the role of Reg in Vera Drake, Edward in The New World, Reverend John in 21 Grams, Killoran in Gangs Of New York, Reeves in the forthcoming Woody Allen project, Eddie Miller in Gangster Number One, and St Brendan the Navigator in Beowulf and Grendel.
His roles have been many and varied including major films such as Gangster No 1, Gangs of New York and 21 Grams. His most recognisable role to date was in the critically acclaimed Mike Leigh film Vera Drake. He won a BIFA award for his role as Reg.
Eddie's busier than ever with his acting work. As well as Friends and Crocodiles he's also coming up in Mission Impossible III, Pierrepoint with Timothy Spall and a big-screen version of the 80s TV series Miami Vice.
