Sarah Louise Christine Chalke was born on August 27, 1976 in Ottawa, Ontario. She is a Canadian television and movie actress.

Sarah is perhaps best known for her character Elliot Reid in the popular American hospital sitcom Scrubs, which shows the lives of four medical students as they venture into hospital life. Elliot is clever and bright. She delights in competition with the other staff at the hospital. She's adapted to fit in well with both colleges and patients and gets caught up in many of the comedic scenes in the show.

Sarah has also made it onto the big screen. Her fist feature length movie is to be release in 2005. "Cake" sees Sarah star alongside Heather Graham and Taye Diggs. Sarah has also filmed another movie. "Alchemy", a comedy film, sees her star alongside Tom Cavanagh and Illeana Douglas.

Whilst Sarah's private life has received limited media coverage it was annouced in 2007 that she was engaged to her longtime boyfriend James Affi, a fact which was confirmed by Sarah in several television and magazine interviews.
