Lothaire Bluteau was born on April 14, 1957 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He is a Canadian actor.

His numerous theatre credits helped lead to his first full-length film, Rien Qu'un Jeu (1983). He also appeared in many motion pictures, including Jesus of Montreal, The Confessional (1995) and Bent (1997).

Bluteau also appeared in Animals with the Tollkeeper (1998), Julie Walking Home (2002), Disappearances (2006) and Walk All Over Me (2007).
