Joseph Leonard Gordon-Levitt was born on February 17, 1981 in Los Angeles, California, USA. He is an American actor.

He starred on the hit television series '3rd Rock From the Sun'. Prior to his success on television, he was already working steadily in feature films, debuting in Robert Redford's 'A River Runs Through It'.

Other film credits include 'Angels in the Outfield,' 'The Juror', 'Halloween: H2O', '10 Things I Hate About You' and one of the lead voices in the animated film, 'Treasure Planet'.

He also starred in 'Manic', where he plays an angry young man sent to a juvenile mental institute. His last credits include Havoc (2005), The Lookout (2007) and Stop-Loss (2008).
