Nia Peeples was born on December 10, 1961 in Hollywood, California. She is an American R&B and dance music singer and actress.
Nia has made her biggest mark as an actor. She has starred in several MOWs and nearly ten network series, including award-winning shows "Fame", "Return to Lonesome Dove", and "Walker, Texas Ranger", the number one Saturday night show, with an average audience of 14.77 million viewers.
Nia brings honesty, purity and a lot of heart to the screen. She's even been known to perform her own stunts - from fight scenes to high falls, earning a nomination for a World Stunt Award for her fight opposite JaRule in Franchise's "Half Past Dead."
She has worked with veteran actors Jon Voight, James Caan, Rutgar Hauer, Barbara Hershey, Dan Aykroyd and Steve Guttenberg in films such as Universal's Blues Brothers 2000 and the surf cult classic, North Shore, as well as the critically acclaimed I Don't Buy Kisses Anymore, with Jason Alexander, Lainie Kazan and Lou Jacobi. Most recently she has ventured into the world of film festivals starring in the award winning feature "The Riff" as well as the 2001 winner of the Berkley festival, "Bruised." Her latest, "Inside Out" is helmed by Tim Bui of the award winning "Three Seasons," stars Steven Webber and Eriq Lasalle and is slated for 2005 festival run.
She also starred opposite Tom Arnold, Tom Berenger, Tony Danza and Lauren Bacall, in the animated film, Firedog (2005) and Connors' War (2006).
She recently hosted the live Emmy preshow and is currently hosting "Pulled Over" for the Style network.
