Eli Wallach
Eli Herschel Wallach was born on December 7, 1915 in Brooklyn, New York. He is an American film, TV and stage actor.
Wallach made his Broadway debut in 1945 and won a Tony Award in 1951 for his performance in the Tennessee Williams play The Rose Tattoo. Additional theater credits include Mister Roberts, The Teahouse of the August Moon, Camino Real, Major Barbara, Luv, and Staircase.
Wallach's film debut was in Elia Kazan's controversial Baby Doll. He has worked in such acclaimed films as The Magnificent Seven (1960), The Misfits (1961), The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (1966) opposite Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef, television's The Executioner's Song (1982) opposite Tommy Lee Jones, The Two Jakes (1990) with Jack Nicholson, and The Godfather: Part III (1990) with Al Pacino.
Wallach has been married to acclaimed stage actress Anne Jackson since March 5, 1948.
