Goldie Jeanne Hawn was born on November 21, 1945 in Washington, DC. She is an Academy Award-winning American actress, director and producer. She is best known for starring in a series of successful film comedies during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

In 1968, Hawn made her feature film debut as a dancer in Disney’s The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, where she met future companion Kurt Russell. The bubbly and infectious actress next turned in an Oscar-nominated performance for Cactus Flower opposite Walter Matthau in 1969. Showing her versatility as an actress, Hawn then gave a well-reviewed dramatic performance in Steven Spielberg’s 1974 film The Sugarland Express.

Hawn won an Oscar for her major movie debut, a supporting role in Cactus Flower (1969, with Walter Matthau), but her filmography is a mixed bag. She's been in many light comedies, turned in a solid performance in Steven Spielberg's The Sugarland Express (1974) and had one blockbuster, the 1980 comedy Private Benjamin.

She is the longtime girlfriend of actor Kurt Russell and the mother of actress Kate Hudson.

Hawn became involved in Eastern philosophy in 1972. She is a practicing Buddhist and has raised her children in both Buddhist and Jewish traditions.
