David Morrissey was born on June 21, 1964 in Everton, Liverpool, England. He is an English film, television and stage actor.

He made his television debut in 1983, after training with Everyman's Youth Theatre in Liverpool. At the 2004 BAFTA awards, Morrissey was nominated for Best Television Actor for his performance in the drama serial, State of Play.

Morrissey starred in Derailed (2005), Basic Instinct 2 (2006), The Reaping (2007) and The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep (2007).

He also appeared in television as "State of Play" (2003), "Blackpool" (2004) and "Cape Wrath" (2007).
