Mary Elizabeth Winstead was born on November 28, 1984 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She is a SAG Award and Young Artist Award-nominated American actress.

She has been in the acting business for a while in notable guest appearances and movies. Her first role was on the tv series, "Touched by an Angel" and before that in her earlier years in the 4th grade she was the lead as Juliet in her school production, "Romeo and Juliet." Her breakout role that most people recongnize Mary by is her role as Gwen Grayson in Sky High (2005). Some of Mary's other interests are singing and dancing and was trained at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York.

Mary so far has been taking online college courses for two years and her majors are Psychology and Art History.

She also starred in Final Destination 3 (2006), Bobby (2006), Black Christmas (2006), Grindhouse (2007) and Live Free or Die Hard (2007).

She is due to star in Make it Happen, a dance film to be shot in and around Chicago and Winnipeg.

She is rumoured to reprise her role in The Ring 3, a second sequel to The Ring.
